This position supports NSP within the Strategic Missile Defense Line of Business in Lockheed Martin Space.

As the Flight Systems, Flight Sciences and Specialty Engineering Lead, you will:
? Lead a team of engineers to plan and successfully execute flight sciences and specialty engineering analysis and design in support of missile system development and deployment
? Manage Missile System flight science and specialty engineering analysis efforts and ensure they are are properly defined, resourced, and executed on schedule
? Be responsible for Flight System analysis to support architecture definition, design and test requirements development and flowdown, and design integration and verification
? Identify areas of system risk and define mitigation activities
? Provide Full Spectrum Leadership and be disciplined in value driven Systems Engineering, driving design analysis in a systematic and thoughtful way

Typically has 9 - 14 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
? 7+ years of experience in flight sciences, systems engineering or related engineering discipline
? Demonstrated ability to define and execute to an established plan
? Understanding of systems engineering, flight sciences and specialty engineering methods, tools and processes
? Perform, coordinate and oversee a broad array of flight sciences analyses, including thermal, loads and dynamics, aero/hydrodynamic environments, stress and mass properties for missile system development
? Possess strong system perspective and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
? Ability to interact with DOD customers and build effective relationships
? US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
? Leadership and/or team experience on a development program
? Demonstrated full spectrum leadership capability
? Strong problem-solving and organization skills
? Ability to manage priorities and define team objectives that align with program priorities
? Participant in Systems Engineering reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR)
? Demonstrated basic understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors
? Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
? Active Secret clearance
